This message is about forgiveness and
forgetfulness.
The fact and message here is of forgiveness and forgetfulness, one of the ultimate teachings of Christ and most spiritual masters as well as this author.
Forgiveness is typically defined as the process of concluding resentment, indignation or anger as a result of a perceived offense, difference or mistake, and/or ceasing to demand punishment or restitution. Or to "give up all claim on account of an offense or debt."
Most world religions include teachings on the nature of forgiveness, and many of these teachings provide a general basis for many varying modern-day traditions and practices of forgiveness.
I know that many of you are on your way to God/self-realization, and I fully understand the difficulty this process involves. I know full well the pain it entails, for I have endured it.
It is necessary to completely let go of the past - entirely. One must abandon all grudges and negativity of the past. Live only in the present and nullify the past continually, for it cannot be changed, ever.
Why dwell on past "sins" or, properly defined, "mistakes?" We have all made them; therefore forgiveness of SELF is critical!
There was a time when I held grudges. No longer is this possible in an ascended being. Some of you still live in the past and are therefore bitter or angry with your life experiences or with others. You must move on. You must "die every day" and be refreshed (or be "born again") to the ever-present Now, which is the only thing that exists. Nothing else exists, period.
It is pure simplicity, and it is the resurrection to eternal Life. The only thing the past is useful for is perhaps the productive understanding of how one has arrived at the present state of being, or how that may be changed towards the positive.
One of the most important keys to attaining the Way and mastery over self is the ability for forgive ... and forget. The only thing – reality – that exists is the eternal NOW. Everything else is delusion, and based on false ego.
The past is indeed written down to be replayed at a future time after death, yet the only truth is that which exists in the Eternal Now. The rest is illusion.
"Do not forgive 7 times, but 7 times 70 times." (Matthew 18:21-22)
"Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." (Matthew 5:7)
"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins." (Mark 11:25)
Islam teaches that God is "The All-Forgiving."
Therefore, do not look at the shortcomings of anybody; see with the sight of forgiveness. The best and most effective way to let go and forgive is to engage in "meditative prayer."
This is easier for some people than others, and I fully understand this, but it IS within your reach; it is something which you absolutely need to do and something that is beneficial for your state of mind and well-being.
Forgiveness removes the blocks to seeing the eternal goodness in, and unity and equality with, one's brother.
However, there is a negative side to forgiveness, since it is often used by authoritarian leaders to perpetrate cycles of ongoing abuse. This kind of forgiveness can be unhealthy.
Intensely related to forgiveness is FORGETFULNESS. Blessed are those who are able to continually forget where they've been or what they've done; yesterday, last year, or 30 years ago. In fact, many drink alcohol to "forget the past," but I am obviously not condoning alcohol abuse.
It's all irrelevant in the big picture. Do not take life too seriously! Laugh a little, smile, joke about life and even yourself.
Do not hold onto or live in the past, for this is merely a chain and shackle dragging the present into the past, and it is an unnecessary burden.
This author's example of forgiveness and awakening is quite extreme. I thank God that I wrote down all the spiritual experiences and visions as they occurred since my awakening in 1999, for the book, because my memory is fading fast; I can barely remember yesterday, or last year, let alone all the profound events since that time. It's becoming a perpetual fog.
I cannot any longer recall my past, and this truly is a blessing, since in the distant past I have definitely been no "saint."
I am blissfully absent-minded, for I no longer seem to belong to the realm of time and space. I am a member of "no-time" beyond the realms of what we call "reality." I am literally living in two worlds, and time has lost its meaning; when one reaches this state, it becomes difficult, if not impossible, to function in a materialistic or worldly society such as our Western one.
Also, you must not imagine that God is unforgiving and condemning; do not worry, God's forgiveness is immense, beyond anything you can imagine. This is because He/She fully understands everything about you, your flaws and human nature in general.
Now, some repentance may or may not be involved when it comes to forgiving yourself in front of God, admitting one's errors and past mistakes, with a willingness to change character toward a pure and divine existence.
Research studies show that those who forgive are happier and healthier than those who hold resentments and bitter grudges.
So it is actually good for your health and well-being, both spiritually and mentally, to be forgiving!
Therefore I am telling you the critical importance of letting go and moving on.
Do not "think" about doing it; just do it! Today!
Sincerely,
Daniel
